As one of the largest developers in Mainland’s real estate market, New World China Land Limited (“New World China” or “the Group” for short; HK stock code: 0917) has the projects in 18 high-growth cities nationwide, and succeeds in constituting brand advantages. Since April this year, the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) sweeping the world has overspread in China and seriously endangered the health and life safety of the general public. In front of difficulties, New World China Land and its subordinated properties invested lots of resources in battling against SARS. Meanwhile, the project management centers in various areas took initiative in participating in public benefit activities, and expressed cares to the frontline medical and nursing personnel. We are united and jointly write a new chapter in battling against SARS with unity and mutual help, and achieved the ultimate victory over SARS. 

In Beijing and Guangzhou with the most critical SARS situation, residential, shopping mall and office buildings subordinated to New World China specially set up the “Emergency Control Group” and invested massive resources in battling against SARS. Even before the rapid spread of SARS in Mainland China, the Group has initiated the preventive activities. For example, the Group conducted large-sized disinfections in all communities, office buildings and shopping malls, and organized several employees anti-SARS learning groups. 

While, the emergency control groups set up in Beijing and Guangzhou were the cross-department groups comprising employees of the management, security and administration departments, which stressed on “rapid response” and took charge for coordinating disinfection, sanitary, personnel deployment, organization and publicity, etc. In addition, all employees and even the decoration workers entering the communities, shopping malls or office buildings must receive temperature detection by the infra-red thermometer. Since the Group’s SARS preventive actions were taken earlier and done completely, there were no tenants or employees of New World China Land, even in Guangzhou and Beijing, infected by SARS. Moreover, communities of the Group in Shenyang and Tianjin were hailed by local governments as SARS prevention model communities. 

To relieve worries of medical and nursing personnel battling against SARS in the frontline and bring joys to their children, New World China Land Tianjin project management center, together with Tianjin TV, held the love donation activity named “New World Property June 1 Sunny Action” on the eve of the June 1 Children’s Day. General Manager Zhang Zelin went to the family of Pei Honglie, the first medical personnel of Tianjin sacrificed in the battle against SARS, to visit Pei’s granddaughter and grandson, presented gifts to them, and donated RMB 60,000 Yuan to aid them to finish their schoolwork, and fulfill the martyr’s will. New World China Land also assigned many employees to go to Haihe Hospital, Pulmonary Disease Hospital, Infections Disease Hospital, and Armed Police Hospital to visit and comfort those medical and nursing personnel battling against SARS in frontline, and present sincere blessings of the public. Meanwhile, on the June 1 Children’s Day, New World China Land entrusted Tianjin TV to deliver the greeting cards made by children to their parents, together with hundreds of bundles of flowers, to the medical and nursing personnel in the quarantine zone. 

To respond to the love activity named “Hand in Hand and Heart to Heart” initiated by New World Group in Hong Kong, clients and working staffs of the communities developed by New World China Land Beijing Project Management Center handed out 1,000 “wish cards” on which people might expressed their tributes to medical personnel, and the initiative got positive responses from both staffs and clients. In only several days, more than 600 cards were received, and staffs carefully bound up these cards that carry sincere gratefulness and encouragement and sent to medical personnel who were fighting in the frontline, so as to show respect and honor to those who fought SARS in Beijing through those cards of care and love.  

Meanwhile, the Group’s employees in Wuhan, Shenyang, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Tianjin, etc. filled in the wish cards on the Company’s website to express their homage to medical personnel. All of those wish cards were delivered to medical personnel of designated hospitals of Beijing to transmit the most genuine encouragement. 

In the critical period when the nation was under the threat of SARS, New World China overcame the regional boundary and joined hands to fight SARS in a concerted manner, and invested powerful energy in fighting SARS, and finally achieved the all-round victory.
