Wuhan New World International Trade Tower and Wuhan New World Centre have attained the LEED Gold Award

(25 April, 2012—Wuhan) Wuhan New World International Trade Tower and Wuhan New World Centre, two flagship projects developed and operated by New World China Land Limited (“NWCL”, Hong Kong Stock Code: 917) have attained the LEED Gold Award Certification issued by U.S. Green Building Council. NWCL is the first enterprise in Central China who won two LEED Gold Awards Only a few buildings in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen and other places have been awarded the certification at present.

NWCL is committed to promoting low carbon and environmentally friendly construction in the community. Since 2011, NWCL (Wuhan) has invested about RMB 10 million to upgrade the facilities of Wuhan New World International Trade Tower and Wuhan New World Centre. For example, the lighting systems of the buildings have been upgraded using over 4,000 LED energy-saving lamps. We have also installed 44 elevator energy-saving devices, added air-conditioning group control systems and condensed water recycling devices in the buildings. It is estimated that when all the facilities have been put into operation, 1.0204 million kwh of electricity and 1,320 tons of water can be conserved annually. If 1 kwh of electricity is approximately equal to 0.997 kg of carbon dioxide, then the two buildings will reduce 1,093.8 tons of carbon emission each year.

NWCL supports the promotion of sustainable development and will introduce the green concept advocated by LEED into each building developed in Wuhan. The commercial part of Wuhan Guanggu New World Complex located at Guanshan Avenue is built according to the standard of LEED certification; and the residential part is fully implanted with the concept of low carbon and environmental protection. And the effects of energy saving and water conservation will substantially reduce the living costs of owners in their future lives.
