(Hong Kong, Aug. 27, 2009) New World China Land Limited (“New World China Land” or “the Group”; HK stock code: 917) and New World Development Limited (“New Development”; HK stock code: 17), together with China Young Leaders Foundation and the Roundtable Community, organized the event of “Endless Love Sichuan—Wenchuan Qiang Nationality Cultural Exchange Group”. During August 20 to 23, 14 Hong Kong college students were selected to make a field trip to Weizhou of Wechuan. 

During the 4-day field trip, those students successively visited the new Weizhou Water Works funded by New World China Land which was launched in 2008 and put into operation in July 2009, and Wenchuan Earthquake Memorial Square, as well as villages around Wenchuan where Qiang, an ethnic minority of China, lives, such as Buwa village, Luobozhai village, and Taoping Qiang village. The students not only came close to daily lives of the Qiang people but also experienced Qiang culture which has a history of more than 4,000 years. During the visit, the students also conducted an in-depth communication with the staffs of assisting working group from Guangzhou who has been working in the first line for a long term. Besides, the students not only gained a general knowledge of Wechuan culture and tourism resources but also conducted several discussions with the working group about several issues such as the current livelihood of people and economic reconstruction in Wenchuan. 


Mr. Zheng Zhigang, Executive Director of New World China Land, hoped that the students can throw themselves into the economic development of earthquake stricken area to help restoration and reconstruction of Wechuan after disasters through the activity. He also noted that students can gain their valuable social practice from learning how to promote commodities in the markets and make people accept the commodities. 

The field trip has topped off. The Roundtable Community will orderly hold group discussions after the return of those students, and plan to promote Qiang Nationality culture and publicize Wenchuan tourism in early November.
