(27 October, Hong Kong) New World China Land Limited (“NWCL”, Stock Code: 917.HK) has been awarded “The Most Respected Company in China 2013-2014” by Economic Observer. A total of 30 well-known companies in China and overseas standing out from 285 nominated companies have been granted this honour. 

The judging panel acclaims NWCL for its focus on the balance among economy, society and environment. The Group has been engaged in urban transformation and construction for a long term and made effective efforts in driving green buildings.  Sustainable development has become an essential part of the Group’s corporate culture and management. 

NWCL actively builds environmental friendly and high quality properties. Currently, nine projects of the Group have attained LEED Gold Certification or Pre-Certification issued by the US Green Building Council. More, the Group has been dedicated to building sustainable community, it launched Happy Island Library and jointly held a farmhouse rebuild programme in poverty-stricken areas with an international charitable organisation, Habitat for Humanity China; NWCL promotes protection and heritance of intangible cultural heritage in Mainland China and even extended it to Hong Kong and the US, DC in 2014. “The Most Respected Company in China” Award is supported by a few business institutions, it aims at commending companies which promote innovation, responsibility and sustainability in China. The judging criteria include five categories, namely industry leader, innovation competitiveness, sustainable development, environmental friendliness and philanthropy. As the first award which focuses on corporate values, “The Most Respected Company in China” Awards has been held for the 11th consecutive years since 2011.
