New World China Land National Sports Meet 2016 Successfully Concluded in Shenyang

(17 October 2016, Hong Kong) New World China Land Limited (“NWCL”) held its national sports meet in Shenyang in September 2016. Mr Chen Guanzhan, Executive Director and Joint General Manager of New World Development Company Limited, Mr Alfred So, Chief Executive Officer of NWCL, Ms Echo Huang, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of NWCL, senior management and over 500 staff participated in this significant staff event.  

The two-day sports meet comprises 51 events that are categorised into swimming, track and field, table tennis, badminton and fun games. Six teams of athletes including Beijing Team, Changyi-Pengshun Team, Shanghai-Dalian-Hong Kong Team, Southern China Team, Wuhan Team and Shenyang Team were formed to take part in the match, presenting an exciting sports event to the audience. 

Themed with “Enjoying the sports, creating the future”, the event integrates sports with the concept of green living, environmental protection, sustainable development and healthy lifestyle, encouraging all participants to enjoy life and sports while looking forward to the future. As the host of the event, Shenyang team organised a unique Manchu banquet. Intangible cultural heritage of Shenyang and Liaoning such as dough figurine, sugar painting, embroidery, cloth tiger, diabolo, paper-cut and Manchu calligraphy were featured during the banquet, demonstrating the integration of historical heritage and contemporary civilisation. An official WeChat platform was created to introduce the competition rules, competition schedule as well as Shenyang cuisines and scenic spots. The WeChat platform also came with an interactive game, “Online Sports Meet”, attracting more than 5,000 staff members to participate in the online game.
